Commemoration of National Immigration Day in Brussels – 65th Anniversary of the 17 October 1961 Demonstrations

The Consulate General of Algeria in Brussels commemorated National Immigration Day, marking the 65th anniversary of the demonstrations of 17 October 1961, under the slogan “From the Depths of Memory to the Horizons of the Future.” The event was attended by a large number of members of the Algerian national community residing in Belgium.

The ceremony included the raising of the national flag and the singing of the national anthem by young children from our community, in collaboration with the “1 November” Association. This was followed by the recitation of Al-Fatiha, the opening chapter of the Holy Quran, and a minute of silence in tribute to the souls of our righteous martyrs.
