Message from the President of the Republic on the occasion of the celebration of the 63rd anniversary of Victory Day

The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, sent a message on Tuesday on the occasion of the celebration of the 63rd anniversary of Victory Day (March 19), which is translated as follows:

"In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful, Prayers and peace upon His Messenger,

Citizens,

On March 19, we celebrate Victory Day, a landmark date in the glorious history of Algeria, marking the culmination of long decades of struggle under the banner of the National Movement and the war of liberation waged for more than seven years by the Algerian people, convinced of the inevitability of armed struggle, initiated by a generation of patriots forged by an arduous journey on the path of awareness in the preparation cells for D-Day, when they decided to proclaim the Declaration of November 1st, which had the effect of an earthquake on the aggressor settlers, and which heralded the outbreak of the inspiring Liberation Revolution on November 1, 1954.

This Revolution was, rightly, one of the greatest anti-colonial revolutions and one of the most authentic epics of the people's struggle against tyranny and domination of the modern era. It will forever remain an example testifying to the Algerian people's commitment to freedom and a symbol of dignity and pride for the people.

The Victory Day, which we celebrate with pride and loyalty, is the fruit of the pure blood that has irrigated our blessed land and of the immeasurable sacrifices made by the Algerian people with bravery, faith, and patience in order to live free and with dignity on their land.

Just like the chouhada, infinitely generous towards Algeria and having shown self-sacrifice and love for the homeland, the Algerian men and women, heirs and guarantors of this glory, are building their country today, with the same spirit, the same determination and the same principles and values, without the slightest bargaining, driven by the desire to build and establish the foundations of a modern State, thanks to an economic policy attracting investments and generating wealth, infrastructure promoting the dynamics of development and young people who are chaining achievements and successes through pioneering experiences in the field of investment, and this, within the framework of a strategy based on the valorization and mobilization of national capacities in the service of sustainable development and continuous social progress in order to ensure a dignified life for all citizens, at a time when the State continues to mobilize energies to guarantee the higher interests of the Nation and strengthen the internal front with a national conscience, which is the pride of the Algerians, and with a political will focused on the future, attentive to the complexity of the situation in the region and its potential repercussions, and anxious, in the current circumstances, to be in step with the developments in international relations, as required by Algeria's place, role, and geostrategic weight, and in accordance with the ideals and principles of the glorious Liberation Revolution.

As part of this authentic national orientation, we celebrate today the Victory Day in victorious Algeria, with fidelity to the valiant chouhada, with loyalty to the Algerian people, and with sincerity in the service of our dear homeland.

On this occasion, I pay tribute to the memory of the valiant chouhada, while greeting my sisters and brothers, the mujahideen. May Allah grant them long life and may He, in this blessed month of Ramadan, accept your fasting and prayers.
